Wine Republic store in Windsor by Red Design Group
With the third instalment of the Wine Republic brand story opening in Windsor, our challenge was to align the store with the demographic of Melbourne’s Chapel Street. The client felt the Southside location would have a higher spend on sparkling wine, contrasting with the Northcote store where sales are more beer driven.
As a result we introduced precious metal highlights throughout the space, gold metal to fixtures and lighting, mirrored ceilings and a walk-in glazed cool-room with gold paneling to create a glowing highlight.
We collaborated with designer Volker Haug on the feature lighting which runs the entire length of the store, dropping gold dipped pedants over the central display. The shape and finish of the display table is inspired by ancient amphora.
Again, as with the Fitzroy and Northcote outlets, we commissioned a local artist to transform the exterior shopfront and also to design labels for the Wine Republic range of cleanskin wines. Brian Cheung was responsible for this most delicate illustration to the shopfront awning.
