Stuart Weitzman innovative show Store design in Calgary

Shoes are the perfect modern project: a product of superb craftsmanship transformed from a mere object into a thing of desire. Clothes do not adapt to changes to the body, but shoes always fit the feet that buy and wear them: perhaps that’s why women love Stuart Weitzman. When Stuart asked me to design places for displaying the shoes he designs, I immediately thought of precious boxes wrapped up, “Christo style”, like gift boxes for his customers, with an uninterrupted ribbon that runs all along the space, creating paths on which the shoes trace vectors of desire.

The new Calgary store will have a captivating atmosphere with an innovative interior design of ribbon detailing. Designed by famed Italian architect Fabio Novembre, who collaborates with Stuart Weitzman on its store designs, this unique modern retail concept has become a recognized worldwide icon of the brand. With a palette of vanilla/gray tones, the stores transcend into a modern contemporary space showcasing Stuart Weitzman’s shoes and handbags.

The select location reinforces the brand image and provides a full collection of approximately 200 styles of footwear, sandals and boots in all categories, including casual, city, dress and evening. The store also features the brand’s complimenting designer handbags. Also, befitting to his description as “Shoemaker to the Stars,” the Stuart Weitzman store will have his specially designed red carpet shoe on display for the opening Gala in the Chinook Center on September 28th 2010.
