Korean fashion brand Songzio has unveiled its first boutique in Paris, choosing the vibrant Marais district as its new home.
Located at 10 rue Charlot, the flagship store is a bold architectural statement that blends Korean modernist sensibilities with classic Parisian elements. The boutique’s striking presence commands attention with its neo-brutalist concrete facade that stands out among the traditional Haussmannian buildings.
Creative director Jay Songzio collaborated with Parisian architecture studio Hypnos XP to create an environment that speaks volumes through its deliberate contrasts and thoughtful design elements.
A remarkable 25-foot (7.5m) cast-in-place concrete staircase serves as the boutique’s centerpiece, connecting three distinct levels – the ground floor, the basement retail space, and the private office area. The interior features a sophisticated interplay of textured concrete and black oak, creating an atmosphere that balances boldness with serenity.
Monolithic columns frame the space, while sculpted alcoves house carefully curated collections. Raw steel rods intersect with segmented mirrors that display the designer’s original sketches. An innovative suspended jewelry drawer, supported by an angular sloping wall, adds an unexpected element of intrigue.
