Prada’s shop window installation by Martino Gamper
Prada’s latest shop window installation in collaboration with Martino Gamper ‘Corners’, ‘pays homage to the humble corner’. Passers by are drawn in by the simplicity of its perspective and sharp angles. The wood grain enhances the perspective and also adds a natural contrast to what is a very inorganic form.
Gamper has created a space within a space, emphasising depth however making the space appear tight and controlled. Despite the various materials and background scene the perspective draws you to the clothes, keeping the window display as a product focus.
These installations are currently installed in their flagship stores in London and Milan however the concept will be brought to their other stores worldwide.
Gamper has successfully turned corners which are often a generic feature in window display design into an individual focus retaining the brands premium, expensive status . Simple and original, this installation is the bench mark in architectural design within retail.
