Milan becomes home to the first ever Bottega Veneta Maison
Bottega Veneta’s largest store is now open in Milan. Also the brand’s first ever Maison, the boutique adorns the affluent Via Sant’Andrea 15 and plays perfect fashion foil to the luxury label’s Via Montenapoleone 5 flagship that has long existed in Milan’s high-fashion district. “It is important however to have one location in the world that houses the Bottega Veneta brand in its entirety, while absolutely maintaining the level of intimacy and the utmost quality of client service that characterize the brand,” said Tomas Maier. The ‘Maison’, true to the name, houses the entire BV product range including women’s and men’s ready-to-wear, handbags, small leather goods, luggage, eyewear, shoes, watches, fragrance, fine jewelry and jewelry, as well as furniture and home items.
One could imagine a modern-day Italian prince traipsing through its lush carpeting. Conceived and designed by Tomas Maier, Bottega Veneta Creative Director, the interior possesses an airy refinement with products stacked succinctly on elegant shelves. The color palette is poised and resplendent in shades ranging from varied greys found in the men’s area to the women’s beiges and pale pinks. Also seen are suede-bathed walls, Wilton wool carpets and concealed light fittings. Mohair furniture upholstery in the interiors juxtaposes classically with the welcoming Venetian terrazzo entrance, enhanced further by the enchanting curved staircase.
Its Milanese design philosophy lends luminosity to the space by way of large windows and balconies, while a glass-encased courtyard stands surrounded by vaults and columns in Montorfano stone, water gushing at its heart from a fountain. “The store design and the approach to the customer render the Maison unique among the entire network of Bottega Veneta locations,” explains Maier.
“In addition to offering unique product solely available at this particular address, the Maison will enable our clients to perceive a completely innovative and exclusive shopping experience and I look forward to welcoming them there,” adds he. Spread over two floors of 1,060 square meters, its 18th century building dedicates the ground level to men and women’s areas with respective entrances, while the upper floor features Bottega Veneta lifestyle alongside Furniture and Jewelry collections.
