Atelier Torbjörn Tillander

In the autumn of 2010 Atelier Torbjörn Tillander opened up a second store. The idea to found a second shop in Oulu had been born already four years before during the company’s 50-year celebrations and a voyage to the North. As a result Tina Tillander visited Oulu on numerous occasions and once as coming back from a particular trip to Oulu she concluded that ’there’s only one location in Oulu where I’d like to open up our store’. The location was the beautiful Puistola estate in Oulu city centre. When a space later on became available the planning could finally start.

From the very beginning the planning work was conducted as a team work with the design and advertising agency Perfect White who contributed to the discovery of interior designer Joanna Laajisto. She’s given our shop in Oulu its distinctive and charming look. We wanted to emphasize in particular that our style is about high quality, being comfy as well as stylish and easy to approach. In other words we wanted the shop to look exactly like us. Skilful carpenters and builders made the shop in Oulu pretty as a jewellery box.
