Aesop unveils new store in Macau
Macau has seen a slew of store openings as of late, bolstering the commercial spaces of luxurious resorts and entertainment complexes transforming Macau into a world-class tourist destination.
Among the newest openings in town is Aesop, which has unveiled a store in DFS Four Seasons Macau.
Earlier this year, L’Oréal signed a deal to acquire the Australian luxury beauty brand from Natura & Co, the Brazilian cosmetics group which owns Avon International, Natura, and The Body Shop. The transaction valued Aesop at USD2.525 billion, and on August 30 L’Oréal announced it had completed the acquisition.
Drawing inspiration from the harmonious blend of eastern and western cultures that shape Macau’s historic centre, Aesop’s in-house design team embarked on research and conceptual development for the new Four Seasons store.
Reflecting the city’s architectural tapestry, which evolved from the enduring encounter between Chinese and Portuguese civilisations spanning centuries, the store seamlessly merges the grandeur of the past with the minimalist design that is a hallmark of Aesop’s boutiques around the world.
At the heart of the store lies a monumental stone basin, inviting customers to explore Aesop’s comprehensive range of skin, body, hair, and home formulations. Paying homage to Portuguese architecture, the same stone extends from the central volume, adorning the floor, skirting, and ascending the wall to create an artfully crafted threshold. Sourced from Yunfu, China, the warm grey stone resonates with the streets of Macau.
