Adler pharmacy design by Kinzo

The Adler Apothecary located in Berlin-Pankow is one of the most deeply rooted and well-established pharmacies in the area. The interior needed a new aesthetic look without addressing the look generally associated with drugstore interior.

KINZO designed a multifunctional counter in order to dissolve the divide it represents. The preparation area usually hidden in the back room is now separated from the retail area only by a glass front so that interested customers can look at the pharmacist preparing their prescriptions. The location of the counter permits keeping a close eye on the entire retail area putting store personnel at ease.
The counter presents an excellent home for 'counter pets' replacing ordinary cardboard displays. The cash register is nicely integrated into the counter as well as several pull-drawers. Additional non-stationary aluminum units function as self-serve shelves that can be rolled into the window area at night to double as lit displays. Tanned leather, white formica and delicate zebrawood veneer complete the distinguished albeit modern look that does not oppose the dignity of the establishment.
